Nigerian international Ogenyi Onazi has asked Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa to consider joining him in Turkey.

Turkish media swirled with reports that Onazi called on his Super Eagles teammate to think about a loan move to Trabzonspor as he continues to battle with life in Leicestershire.

Onazi joined Trabzonspor from Lazio over the summer and has experienced a turnaround in his career, emerging a key player for the Turkish giants since the switch.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder already has two goals and one assist in 32 appearances for Trabzonspor in all competitions, and has decided to offer an escape to his compatriot who has been on the sidelines at Leicester, Vanguard Sports writes.

Musa, 25, joined the Foxes for a club record £16 million fee from CSKA Moscow last summer, but has largely failed to deliver on the high expectations.

The pacy forward, who recently had a run-in with the authorities over a domestic misunderstanding, has managed just four goals in 31 appearances with the Foxes, and has rarely featured since title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri was replaced by Craig Shakespeare last month.

He still has another three-years remaining on his contract with the Foxes and is unlikely to leave on a permanent deal, meaning a loan move could be a viable option.
