Poll Shift Saved Anambra Central From Mayhem – Senator Umeh

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, has said the nationwide postponement of Saturday polls announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission has saved his constituency from mayhem.

Umeh who is seeking reelection to the Senate alleged that his opponents had mobilised hoodlums with the intention to cause trouble in the area because they knew they could not win the contest.

He said but for the postponement, his opponents would have unleashed mayhem on the people of the area for selfish interests.

He said,” The postponement has exposed the nefarious plans of our opponents, those who when they saw that the election was already out of their hands, they mobilised cultists and thugs in various locations of Anambra Central Senatorial District.

“Having mobilised the thugs and criminals across the local governments in  the senatorial district, they were disappointed that the election was postponed after they had moved into their various locations to wreak havoc during the election.”

So out of frustration they destroyed my billboards across the zone. I have promptly alerted the  Commissioner of Police Anambra State, Mustapha dan Daura of this development .”
