President Buhari departs for Equatorial Guinea
President Buhari departed Abuja for Malabo Equatorial Guinea on a 2 day state visit for talks on maritime security on Monday, March 14, 2016.
Buhari leads a national security team to visit President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, in view of reaching a final agreement on certain security issues concerning both countries.

President Buhari and his Equatorial Guinea counterpart are expected to discuss and agree on collaborative measures to combat crimes such as piracy, crude oil theft, attacks on oil rigs, arms smuggling and human trafficking in the Gulf of Guinea. Both leaders will also confer on the rescheduling of the joint summit of the Economic Community of West African States and the Economic Community of Central African States on additional cooperative measures to curb terrorism and violent extremism in West and Central Africa.
