Rafa Nadal Reveals Ambition to be Real Madrid President

Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has opened up on his dream to one day become the president of Spanish club Real Madrid.

Mallorca-born Nadal, 30, is a staunch Real fan despite the fact that his uncle Miguel Angel Nadal enjoyed a stellar career at Real archrivals Barcelona.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion, who is often a guest at the Santiago Bernabeu, has however recognised that being at the helm of the La Liga and European giants is going to be difficult, if not impossible, Goal writes.

“If you ask me if I would like it, of course I would, why not?” Nadal said in an interview with Madrid-based El Mundo.

“But there is more to it… I think it will not be.”

The Galacticos are presently flying high in La Liga, sitting a point clear of Barcelona despite having played two fewer games.

And Nadal, who lost the Australian Open final in a five setter to old foe Roger Federer, was full of praise for the work being done by current president Florentino Perez.

“We are very good as we are,” he said.

“We have a great president right now and I don’t think Real Madrid need me, but we never know what can happen in the future.

“It is not something I can raise today.”

The Spaniard said Tuesday he will be playing at the Aegon Championship in Queens in preparation for this year’s Wimbledon.
