Samuel Eto’o has won the Player Career Award at the 2016 Global Soccer Awards staged in Dubai.

The 35-year-old who was named African Player of the Year for four times was rewarded for his immense input to the round leather game – which saw him get three Uefa Champions League, two La Liga, two Africa Cup of Nations and Fifa Club World Cup titles.

“I’ve received the Player Career Awards in Dubai yesterday. Thanks to all my teammates and coaches who have helped make this possible,” Eto’o tweeted.

He also dedicated his trophy to all of those who have lost a loved one through terrorist attacks.

Egypt’s Mohamed Salah was named best Arab Player of the Year with Mark Clattenburg getting the Referee of the Year prize, while Real Madrid’s Cistiano Ronaldo was named Player of the Year.

Portugal’s Fernando Santos was named coach of the year for winning the Uefa European Championship staged in France. Also, Mino Raiola was honoured with the agent of the year diadem while Real Madrid was named club of the year.
