Theatre Commander Visits Shehu Of Bama, Lauds Royal Father’s Support To The Nigerian Army

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI Maj Gen W Shaibu has lauded the Shehu of Bama His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Ibn Kyari Al-Amin El-Kanemi for his enormous support to the Nigerian Army (NA).
He gave the commendation on Thursday 29 February 2024, at the Shehu’s Palace in Bama Borno State.

Gen Shaibu stated that he was at the Palace to pay homage to the Shehu, describing his visit as homecoming, having served in Bama as Commander 21 Special Armoured Brigade. He said the Royal Father was highly instrumental to the return of peace in Bama, adding that without his presence, many people would not have been convinced to return to the town after it was ravaged by terrorists.

The Theatre Commander used the medium to thank the good people of Bama and especially the Shehu for his prayers, common leadership and unwavering support to the Brigade and the NA at large, stressing that the NA holds him in high esteem.

Responding, the Shehu His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Ibn Kyari Al-Amin El-Kanemi welcomed the The Theatre Commander, assuring to keep him in their prayers, and support the military to succeed in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

He attributed Gen Shaibu’s appointment and successes to the good relationship he keeps in the course of his career. The visit featured presentation of special memento and group photograph.

Earlier, the Theatre Commander
paid operational visit to Headquarters 21 Special Armoured Brigade, where he was received and briefed on the operational activities of the Brigade by the Commander Brig Gen SS Diwa. He commended the Brigade for the feat in the ongoing operations.

Gen Shaibu also addressed troops of the Brigade, where he appreciated them for their resilience and charged them to do more in order to bring lasting peace to the areas, adding that the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff and the entire military appreciate their sacrifices.

The events featured signing of visitor’s book, exchange of plaques and group photographs.
