Wayne Rooney Arrested on Suspicion of Drunk-Driving
Former England skipper Wayne Rooney has been arrested on suspicion of drunk-driving after spending the night at the bar.
And the police have released a statement to this effect.
News of his alleged arrest comes after his wife Coleen, 31, announced she was pregnant with her and Wayne’s fourth child last month.
Rooney, 31, was reportedly three times the limit when he was stopped by police in Chester at 6am after a night out with pals, The Sun writes.
After partying and singing Oasis with ex-Man United teammate Wes Brown at the upscale haunt, Alderley Edge, he spent the night in the cells.
The Everton striker was also spotted eating in nearby Italian restaurant Piccolino, not far from his £6million mansion in Prestbury.
This comes barely a week after he stood down from England duty topping the Three Lions goal scoring record with 53 goals in 119 appearances.
But this is not the first time allegations about the England striker’s excessive drinking have hit the headlines.
Last November, he was pictured slumped out on a sofa with bloodshot eyes and wine-stained lips after crashing a wedding party. He has also been the subject of scandal following accusations he cheated on Coleen with prostitutes.
He has also been accused in the past of romping with former call girl and Big Brother winner Helen Wood, while in 2004, he reportedly visited a 48-year-old grandmother known as “Alud Slapper” at a £45-a-time Liverpool brothel.
