Comedian Bovi Declares Himself President of the New Nigeria
The current economic condition continues to test the loyalty of every citizen to Nigeria; while many people froth in frustration over every day every problems like the hike in price of food stuff, others like comedian Bovi are thinking of ways to escape our reality.
Today, the comedian took to his page to announce the arrival of a new Nigeria in which he is the president; a place where tribalism, cronyism, religion (and all the things that deepen the divide between us) will not rule over excellence. He is tired of the real Nigeria, hence he wants us to join him to create a borderless country where citizens will choose and be who they want to be, have fun and live.
Is he creating a false escape for frustrated Nigerians? Well, Bovi is an outstanding creative who never fails to re-invent himself.
“I will be running a unitary system of government but at the same time allow for a confederal state,” the creator says. “This means you are welcome to declare yourself governor of your state or minister of any ministry you are passionate about.”
He continues, “But I remain the only president until I declare elections online very soon. This is a government of the people so feel free to let us know ur problems (online) and we will solve them online. In this govt, tribe, religion, region or creed doesn’t count.”
“As long as you’re Nigerian, u are qualified. Worship your god as u like but don’t use it to disturb another,” he warns, adding, “We run a simple life here in Nigeria (online). If ur street is untarred for example, report ur local govt chairman or commissioner for works or Gov or minister to me. This is a govt of accountability. Long live the federal republic of Nigeria (online).”
Hilarious, it may seem, but many of his fans are taking this really serious.
But, is the comedian ushering in a new movement whose momentum would trickle down to reality. For one, it seems the comedian is giving a lot of people hope and an opportunity to redeem our beleaguered nation.
