Cristiano Ronaldo Orders Lawyers to Negotiate Real Madrid Exit

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly ready to force through a move away from Real Madrid next summer as his relationship with club president Fiorentino Perez degenerates.

Reports coming out of Spain suggest the reigning Ballon d’Or holder has asked his lawyers to begin negotiating his exit from the club over what he perceives as lack of support from Perez during a slow start to the campaign, Metro writes.

Ronaldo, 32, has cut a frustrated figure at the Bernabeu this season – scoring just four goals as champions Los Blancos drift to fourth, eight points behind leaders Barcelona.

According to El Chiringuito TV, Ronaldo is refusing to negotiate with Real over a renewal on his current contract, and is now ‘closer than ever’ to leaving the Bernabeu.

He is refusing to listen to any offers, while Real themselves are wary of extending his current deal, which runs until 2021, and do not believe they need to offer fresh terms to a player who is already tied down for the next three years.

Tensions between Ronaldo and Perez escalated further after the Ballon d’Or, with the 32-year-old livid with the Real president’s comments on Neymar.

In a rather bold turn, Perez had made his most overt statement yet that he would like to sign Neymar, saying: “Being in Madrid would make it easier to win the Ballon d’Or. Madrid is a club that gives a big player everything they need to do so.”

That was the tipping point for Ronaldo, who reportedly went as far as tasking his lawyers with getting a written document from Real Madrid allowing him to leave in the summer.

His release clause is currently set at £1billion and Real are adamant that they will only sell if that buy-out fee is met – but Ronaldo knows no team can pay that.

Hence he hopes to secure an exit clause in his contract that will allow him to leave the Spanish capital next summer for a more realistic price.

The Portugal captain was on target as Real Madrid edged UAE’s Al-Jazira on Wednesday to book a spot in the Club World Cup final against Gremio of Brazil.
