I Knew I Would Score The Winning Goal – Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he “had a vision” that he would score the goal to land Real Madrid their eleventh Champions League trophy.

Zinedine Zidane’s men emerged victorious on shootouts after an engrossing 120 minutes of action at the San Siro, and as has so often been the case, it was their top scorer who stroked home from 12 yards to settle the tie after Juanfran’s miss handed them the advantage.

And when questioned on the pitch, moments after the manic celebrations had temporarily died down, the Portugal captain, not particularly known for his modesty, told Spanish television that he’d seen the moment coming, Mirror writes.

“I had a vision,” he said.

“I knew that I would score the winning goal… I told Zizou that and to let me take the fifth and that’s how it turned out.

“My third Champions League,” he added.

Ronaldo was, anonymous throughout the 120 minutes of tough-tackling, hard-hitting intense football between the city rivals.

His best chance came in the first half of extra time, but he managed to fluff a header when unmarked.
