Lionel Messi Back in Barca Training after Arm Injury
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi returned to training earlier than expected on Wednesday as the he continues his recovery from an arm injury.
There were fears of the worst when the 31-year-old magician broke a bone in his right arm on Oct. 20 during a match against Sevilla.
The injury – which has so far kept him out of the team’s massive wins against Inter Milan and Real Madrid – was supposed to have him sidelined for three weeks.
But the talismanic no 10 has shown remarkable recovery as he began training with the first team yesterday.
But reports in Spain have now suggested that Messi may be available for first-team action quicker than forecast.
He was not included in the squad for Wednesday’s 1-0 Copa del Rey win at Cultural Leonesa, and is unlikely to feature on Saturday in the La Liga match at Rayo Vallecano.
However, he may return for Barca’s glamour UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan at the San Siro on Nov. 9.
